Cookery Workshop Supports Stansted Farm Shop
Most of you are aware that we host cookery workshops each year and the monies raised are donated to a local charity or good cause. Our cookery workshop to be hosted in April 2017 will be no different. (now fully booked)
We will be donating the money to Fred and Sam at Stansted Farm Shop.
We have supported and worked with Stansted Farm for several years serving their fine produce at Fat Olives and Lawrence has performed cookery demonstrations at the Stansted Garden Show.
The Project at Stansted Farm Shop
We are looking forward to the expansion and re-build project that is in progress at Stansted Farm shop at this present time so as part of their ‘crowdfunding’ campaign during March 2017 we have pledged the money from our Cookery Workshop towards their project.
The Crowdfunding will help build a vibrant food hub at Stansted Park, creating 6 local jobs in the first year, and helping to support and raise awareness of the primary food producers in Sussex and Hampshire, from farmers and fishermen, to bee keepers and artisan bakers.
A full time butchery with cold store and cutting room on site will offer game and meat from neighbouring farms and estates 6 days a week. Which will also enable Sam & Fred to increase their deliveries to local pubs and restaurants.
The production kitchen will supply the deli and offer family-friendly lunch, smoked meats & BBQ. In the evenings, the retail stands will be moved away, creating a space for parties and events such as monthly seasonal suppers.
The old shop building will be used for future cookery demonstrations (which Lawrence is proud to be part of) bread and cheese making and other food related courses.
