VE Day Friday 8th May 2020

Celebrate VE Day Friday 8th May 2020…..

The poignant moment in everyone’s lives 75 years ago when
Sir Winston Churchill announced at 3pm 1945 the war in Europe had ended following Germany’s surrender.
The war continued in Japan, India and Burma until 2nd September.

Garden and Street parties will not be going ahead this year due to our current situation, but let us come together to pay tribute to the generation of the Second World War.

Show your appreciation and enjoy a party atmosphere with your love and thanks to all our heroes in History and of Today.

Bring out the Flags
Turn on some 1940’s music and dance wildly or a
gentle waltz
Don’t forget Sing Loud….
Laugh at some old photos
Bake some cake and eat it ALL!!

Lets be grateful and
RAISE A GLASS OR A CUP OF TEA

‘WE’LL MEET AGAIN” with Dame Vera Lynn

No excuses if you can’t remember the words here
they are!!

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day

Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
Till the blue skies chase
Those dark clouds far away

And I will just say hello
To the folks that you know
Tell them you won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That, as I saw you go
You were singing this song

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day

And I will just say hello
To the folks that you know
Tell them you won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That, as I saw you go
You were singing this song

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day
